Who Can Benefit From Nursing Foot & Lower Limb Care?

People from all walks of life can benefit, we all depend on our feet to keep us mobile. People who spend long hours on their feet could benefit from a relaxing foot care treatment and suggestions for improved foot health and comfort. Ongoing nursing foot care maintenance is important for those with poor eyesight, diabetes, and diseases such as poor circulation, stroke, dementia, arthritis, joint problems, foot pain or other conditions that prevent people from being able to care safely for their own feet.

Why Routine Diabetic Foot Care is Essential

Higher glucose levels over time can cause nerve damage in the extremities that may cause sensory, motor or autonomic nerve damage in the feet and lower limbs and other parts of the body such as; eyes, kidneys, muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, nails and many other organs.

Peripheral neuropathy can contribute to many foot-related problems and if gone un-noticed, or left untreated such as sores, ingrown toenails, deformities, causing instability, falls. Poor circulation is often a result of delayed wound healing increasing risk for ulceration, persist infections, non healing wounds resulting in lower limb amputations. Prevention is the key to protecting your health and well-being.

Do you suffer from lower limb & foot pain? We Can Help!

Poor biomechanics is generally the underlying cause of most types of Arch and Heel Pain. Biomechanics is how our feet interact with the ground or the surface we walk, run or play on. Improper biomechanics places too much stress on the heel bone, ligaments, nerves or other structures of the foot. Other contributing factors could be walking or jumping on hard surfaces, poorly made footwear or being overweight. Other health conditions like gout, arthritis, circulatory problems, etc. can also cause pain in this area.

Treatments and orthotics may be covered under your extended health insurance benefits.

What is Shockwave Laser Therapy?

Shockwave laser foot therapy is the most advanced and highly effective, non invasive treatment option for many foot and lower limb related issues. The treatment relieves pain by producing an analgesic effect in the treatment area. The proprietary technology is based on a unique set of pressure waves that stimulate the metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing process. Damaged tissue gradually regenerates and eventually heals making it a great treatment option plantar fasciitis and other lower limb/foot condition.

A Cure for Fungal Nails

The forefoot is generally an area of the foot that stays warm and damp, unfortunately making it a prime location for fungus to grow and thrive. If left untreated, seemingly harmless fungal infections can spread, which is why it’s so important to get professional help early on and learn about your treatment options.

The Importance of YOUR Leg Health

Leg problems are widespread throughout the world. 100’s of millions of people around the world suffers from some form of venous disorder. If you have tired, aching, swollen legs, or if you see the beginning of varicose veins, we can help you learn how to improve the health of your venous circulation. Venous circulation problems can progressively worsen over time and can affect your health and quality of life.

Wound care is a very complex management system.

Autoimmune diseases, circulatory impairments, and diabetes can negatively impact the sensory, autonomic, and motor nerves in the lower extremities, leading to a loss of protective sensation and decreased skin integrity. This may result in an inability to notice injuries, changes in foot shape that create pressure areas, and reduced sweat production, causing dry, cracked skin.

Small issues like calluses, corns, or blisters can escalate into serious foot ulcers, particularly on the ball of the foot, big toe, heel, or over bony prominences. Poor microvascular circulation in diabetics hampers the body’s ability to heal, increasing infection risk. Additionally, toe deformities like hammer toes or bunions can heighten the risk of developing wounds if not properly managed.

If you’re experiencing foot pain, laser foot therapy could be an effective solution.

This foot care treatment can be used to alleviate leg, knee, ankle, and foot pain, including heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis. It will also help with tendonitis, joint inflammation, peripheral neuropathy and sprains. The laser deeply penetrates the affected area to remove inflammation, relieving pain and discomfort. In most cases, the problem is permanently resolved, compared with pain medication that simply masks symptoms without treating the underlying cause.

Now Attractive & Fun to Wear!

Custom compression therapy is the use of controlled pressure to increase venous blood flow in a limb while decreasing the volume.

By applying measured pressure in the form of socks, stockings, tights, or bandages, custom compression therapy can reduce inflammation and sustain the restorative process.

What are CUSTOM fit Orthotics?

Custom fit Orthotics look like insoles, but are Bio-mechanical medical appliances that are custom made to correct your specific foot imbalances.

Orthotics work on your feet much like glasses work on your eyes – reducing stress and strains on your body by bringing your feet back into proper alignment. Orthotics fit into your shoes as comfortably as an insole and has the advantage of being made from PRECISE imprints of YOUR feet.

Laser Wart Removal –

If you are suffering from a wart, our experienced Podortho Foot Specialists are trained on our wart laser pen to make your wart disappear. using intense laser energy, it vaporizes viruses, disinfects, and coagulates the small blood vessels that “feed” the wart. treatment numbers depend on wart size and root depth.

The Importance of Regular Foot Care Treatments

Be kind to your feet. Years of wear and tear can be hard on them. So can disease, bad circulation, poorly trimmed toenails, and wearing shoes that don’t fit. Foot problems are sometimes the first sign of more serious medical conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and nerve or circulatory disorders. Regular maintenance foot care treatments can prevent serious complications. Depending on your foot condition, we see patients anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks apart.

What is Reflexology and what does it do?

Reflexology is a special foot massage that helps relieve tension and stress. It does more than just improve blood flow and relax you. it also clears away harmful substances, eases pain, and brings about a profound sense of calm. Additionally, it helps remove blocked energy, which in Eastern medicine is thought to be the main reason for feeling unwell.

How does an Ionic Cleanse work?

An ion is a charged atom that has gained or lost an electron and creates a magnetic field capable of neutralizing oppositely charged particles. These neutralized particles are pulled out of the body through the skin via a process called osmosis, or the movement of particles through a membrane, from a lower concentration to a higher concentration. In this case, the higher concentration is the ion field set up by the foot Ionic Cleanse array in the water. On average it is recommended to complete 6-10 half hour treatments to enjoy the full benefits of the Ionic Cleanse.

Healthy individuals can expect to feel an increased sense of well being from each Ionic Cleanse session.

People with pain, edema and swollen deteriorating joints have reported symptomatic relief from Ionic Cleanse sessions.

Experience profound relaxation and rejuvenation.

How Laser Hair Removal Works:
Laser hair removal used concentrated light energy energy to target and destroy hair follicles beneath the skin’s surface. The laser emits pulses of light that are absorbed by pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles. The heat damages the follicle, inhibiting future hair growth without harming the surrounding skin.
This treatment typically takes 3-5 sessions.

How Oxygen Facial Works:
An Oxygen Facial involves the application of highly concentrated oxygen molecules infused with vitamins and antioxidants directly to the skin. The oxygen helps to nourish and hydrate the skin, while the vitamins and antioxidants promote collagen production, reduce inflammation, and improve overall skin texture and tone. During your Oxygen Facial session, our skilled estheticians will access your skin’s needs and customize the treatment to address your specific concerns. The procedure is gentle and relaxing, utilizing a specialized oxygen delivery system to ensure maximum effectiveness.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works:
Laser tattoo removal utilizes advanced technology to target and break don ink particles embedded in the skin. The laser emits highly concentrated light pulses that penetrate the skin without damaging surrounding tissue. These pulses fragment that tattoo pigment into smaller particles, which are then naturally eliminated by the body’s immune system.

Rejuvenate your skin and address common concerns such as fine lines, age spots, dark spots, uneven skin tone, and skin discoloration. Our customized treatments are designed to restore your skin’s natural radiance and youthful appearance. No downtime needed with these non-invasive laser treatments.
This treatment typically takes 3 – 5 sessions.

See What Our Clients Say About Feet For Life

The home visit was excellent. Great to have proper foot care done by a nurse in my own community (Bracebridge). This saved me a long drive in winter road conditions. Hopefully more local people take up Feet for Life’s home care program.

Connie Home Care Program

I'm writing to let you know how happy I am with the treatment I received at Feet For Life over the past couple of weeks. My plantar fasciitis is much better. No more pain in the morning and that's thanks to the course of laser treatment that you recommended and I received at Feet For Life. I'll be heading out for a run this weekend! My appointments were booked to suit my schedule and in close succession of each other to maximize the benefit of the treatment. Everyone was professional, courteous and friendly. I won't hesitate to refer you and your clinic to friends, family and associates.

Jennifer Plantar Fasciitis

I went to Feet for Life for Diabetic foot-care. When I told them I had diabetic Neuropathy they told me it was treatable. This was a real surprise to me since several doctors had told me there was no treatment available at all! I've been living with totally numb feet and constant sharp shooting pains for 10 years! After 6 treatments in two weeks with laser and IR light; the sharp shooting pains have become almost non-existent and I have feeling back in my feet for the first time in ten years! Although not 100% I can feel the gas pedal in my car, know when my slipper has fallen off going up or down the stairs; and feel water hitting my feet in the shower. I'm continuing the treatments on a gradually decreasing frequency.

Hank Diabetic Footcare

A few moths ago I had sore, swollen feet caused from a wart which over the counter remedies weren’t working. I was unable to walk, work out ect. The pain was terrible. I was searching for someone who did laser treatment. I’m so happy I made that phone call that day and Erin and her team at feet for life were able to help me return back to my activity of daily living with as little as two treatments. Their work is amazing. Friendly and professional care provided from everyone at feet for life.
